FIRE PREVENTION
Inspections
The Fort Thomas Fire Department performs
car seat, fire safety, life safety, and occupancy inspections
of businesses, multi-family dwellings and places of assembly
in the city of Fort Thomas. Also, burn permits are issued after
an inspection of compliance to private citizens for the burning
of brush.
March 14, 2010 is the first Daylight
Savings Time Change for the year. As part of the time change
the fire department and the International Association of Fire
Chiefs encourage residents to "Change Your clock, Change
your Battery".

Firefighter/Paramedics Rick Daugherty and Chris Rust display
the IAFC Banner at the fire department.
Firefighter/Paramedic Webster is a
certified Child Passenger Safety Technician by Safe Kids USA.
Many parents, grandparents or guardians do not understand the
complexity of this most important safety device. Firefighter
Webster is available for car seat assistance on a scheduled basis.
Please contact the fire department at 859-441-8393 to schedule
an appointment.
Inspection of facilities plays an
important role in the safety of our residents. These inspections
ensure that exits are kept available, protection devices will
operate and alarm systems will sound to enhance evacuation. At
left FF/P Chris Wulfeck checks the date on an extinguisher inspection
tag to ensure the equipment is up to date. At right Captain Greg
Schultz and FF/P Steve Rath inspect the cleanliness of a range
hood and discuss with a facility manager.
