Update of City Projects:

Midway CBD - Prus Construction will ramp up construction as the Spring weather hits town and will be on schedule to complete the Streetscape improvements in early June……

Tower Park Amphitheatre - Grading is nearly complete on the site and construction of the new Amphitheatre structure. Designed by CDS & Associates, the construction will commence in March with Century Construction as the General Contractor. July 1, 2010 is the targeted completion date to coincide with the “Fourth at the Fort” celebration.

2010 Capital Street Program - The following streets have been included in the proposed 2010 street resurfacing/sidewalk program: Arno Avenue, Burnet Ridge (from Riverside Pkwy to Lester Ln.) Crescent Court, Deshler Lane, Huntemann Lane, Rob Roy Avenue, and Sterling Avenue. Additionally, the sidewalk replacement program will include E&W Kimberly, Brittany Lane, Budde Court and sections of Highland Ave. & S. Ft. Thomas Ave. A Public Hearing to consider this program is scheduled for March 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

Duke Energy Gas Line Replacement - The last phase of this replacement program is taking place over this Winter with completion scheduled for late April. This is the culmination of city-wide replacement work over the last six years. Final streets that will close this program include: Dumfries, Burnet Ridge, Montrose, Bluegrass and Forest Avenue.

“South Park” Grading - The City is working with AMS Construction to complete grading in the south portion of Tower Park near the soccer complex. This work is being completed at no cost to the City and will result in a re-graded area that will be easier to maintain and also allow for some light recreational uses. These areas should be seeded in the Spring and ready for use by Summer of this year!

What you should know...

Potholes: It is the season for those nasty potholes to pop up on any street…..at any time; please report those pesky potholes to Julie Rice at jrice@ftthomas.org.

Streetlights: To report street light outages contact Jay Treft at Jtreft@ftthomas.org. Jay will make the appropriate reporting to Duke Energy. Typical lead time for replacement is approximately two weeks.

Storm Sewers: Sanitation District No.1 is now responsible for maintenance of storm sewers. If you need to contact SD1 during regular business hours, please call 859-578-7450. If you have an emergency after hours or on the weekend, please call SD1 at 859-331-6674.
