ORDINANCE NO. O-16-2008

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATES OF PAY OF THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS, CAMPBELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY, FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES WHO ARE MEMBERS OF I.A.F.F. LOCAL #1928, FOR THE 2008-2009 FISCAL YEAR, AND FIXING THE MANNER OF PAYING SUCH COMPENSATION.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS, CAMPBELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY:

SECTION I

That the rates of pay of the officers and the regular firefighters of the Fire Department of the City of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, who are listed below, be, and the same are hereby fixed and determined, so that said employees shall receive for their services pay at the following rates for the 2008-2009 Fiscal Year.

POSITION 2008-2009 HOURLY RATE

Captain, Grade 5 $16.33

Lieutenant, Grade 4 $15.78

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 3B $15.54

Firefighter, Grade 3 $13.72

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 2B $15.23

Firefighter, Grade 2 $13.44

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 1B $14.91

Firefighter, Grade 1 $13.17

SECTION II

Employees will be paid at the above hourly rates for the first forty hours of work each week and one and one-half (1 ½) times that rate for all additional hours worked each week.

In the event that a need for overtime should occur in the Fire Department because of emergency, sickness or other unforeseen conditions, the following hourly rates shall be paid:

Captain, Grade 5 $39.19

Lieutenant, Grade 4 $37.87

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 3B $37.30

Firefighter, Grade 3 $32.93

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 2B $36.55

Firefighter, Grade 2 $32.26

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 1B $35.78

Firefighter, Grade 1 $31.61

In the event of a need for a 24-hour overtime shift, the following rates shall be paid for that shift:

Captain, Grade 5 $679.25/shift

Lieutenant, Grade 4 $679.25/shift

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 3B $679.25/shift

Firefighter, Grade 3 $679.25/shift

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 2B $679.25/shift

Firefighter, Grade 2 $679.25/shift

Firefighter/Paramedic, Grade 1B $679.25/shift

Firefighter, Grade 1 $679.25/shift

SECTION III

The work week for the Fire Department shall be defined as beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, and continuing until Sunday at 7:30 a.m.

SECTION IV

All Ordinances, Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.

SECTION V

This Ordinance shall be effective when read, adopted, and advertised according to law.
