ORDINANCE NO. O-21-2011
AN
ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE FORT THOMAS PLANNING COMMISSION
SUBMITTED IN ITS RESOLUTION NO. Z-03-2011
WHEREAS,
the Fort Thomas Planning
Commission conducted public hearings on October 19, 2011 and November 16, 2011,
to review and consider possible amendments to the text of Section 9.8 C “Unsightly
and Unsanitary Storage” pertaining to the parking and storing of vehicles on
private property in any residential zoning district; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Thomas Planning Commission
made the following Findings of Facts pertaining to the amendment: That the proposed text amendment is
reasonable and will reduce the number of commonly used vehicles both commercial
and private that are in violation of our current Zoning Ordinance as it relates
to the parking and storing of vehicles in residential areas.
WHEREAS, the
Fort Thomas Planning Commission has submitted Resolution No. Z-03-2011 recommending
the text of the Zoning Ordinance be amended as indicated
therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
SECTION I
That Section 9.8
C of the Fort Thomas Zoning Ordinance be and the same
is hereby amended as follows:
It shall be unlawful for any
person, or persons, to live in any trailer, boat, or truck within the limits of
the City of Fort Thomas, Kentucky. It
shall be unlawful for any person, or persons, to keep or park any trailer, or
boat in any residential district on any street or public way in truck
or commercial vehicle greater than seven feet (7’) in height as measured
from the ground or more than four thousand pounds (4,000 lbs) empty eight
thousand pounds (8,000 lbs.) curb weight at any place or location on any
private property in any residential district except in a completely enclosed
garage building. No non-commercial or recreational vehicle, trailer, or
boat greater than eight thousand pounds (8,000 lbs.) empty curb
weight or more than ten feet (10’) in height or more than thirty feet (30’) in
length shall be permitted at any place or location on any private property in
any residential district except in a completely enclosed garage building
SECTION II
That the City Clerk be and
is hereby authorized and directed to deliver a certified copy of this ordinance
to the Zoning Administrator.
SECTION III
That this
Ordinance shall amend, but not repeal, the existing Official Zoning Ordinance
of the City of
SECTION IV
That this Ordinance shall be
effective when read, passed and advertised at the earliest date according to
law.
