The Fort Thomas Police Department has two full time Detective Officers. One works day shift 8:00AM to 4:30PM and another works 12:00PM to 8:00PM.

Detectives handle almost all of the followup work for most open criminal cases that are filed with the Fort Thomas Police Department. Almost all initial reports and investigations are by uniformed officer, but most often the followup or resolution of the case will be made by a detective.
