 Anyone can obtain an official report
that was made via the KY State Reporting System by going to BuyCrash.com.
THe cost is $10.00, but there is no delay in receiving the report.
NOTE: Per KRS 189.635, these reports
shall be made available only to the parties to the accident,
the parents or guardians of a minor whos is party to the accident,
and insurers or their written designee for insurance business
purposes of any party who is the subject of the report, or to
the attorneys of the parties.
You can obtain
a copy of their own report with a picture ID for free by coming
to the Police Department.
We will not
fax a report or records because we need to see an ID.
NOTE: In
order to expedite the retrieval of a report, is is always a good
idea to call ahead of time and have the report pulled and made
ready for you. this way anyone in the office can get you the
report should the clerk be out when you arrive.
Insurance companies
and attornies (representing a client) can obtain a copy of a
report. They need to send in a written request and a $2.00 fee.
They may also pick them up in person. We will not fax records
and reports unless the request and the $2.00 fee are received.
This process takes 4 to 7 business days due to mail time etc.
