WHEREAS, we have gathered today on this occasion to
honor and acknowledge the dedication and numerous professional achievements of
Mr. Elgin Emmons, who has announced his retirement after 21 years in teaching and
6 years of being Principal of Highlands High School; and
WHEREAS, we are joining his family, friends, and
co-workers in telling him of our deep admiration for his accomplishments and
our sincere appreciation for the personal contributions he has made to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Principal
Emmons has led Highlands High School to be recognized as the first public
school in Kentucky to be named a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School, one
of the top schools in the nation as recognized by national publications, a
Kentucky pacesetter school, and overall led a school that continued to enhance
the rigor of its academic program; and
WHEREAS, Elgin Emmons treats all people with respect
and dignity, is a good model of communication and organization and has been
devoted to the Highlands High School Family; and

WHEREAS, Principal Emmons will be greatly missed and
the Fort Thomas Independent School District along with Highlands High School,
would like to take this opportunity to wish him much success and happiness in
all of his future endeavors;
