WHEREAS, Joseph W. Gross served as president and CEO
of St. Elizabeth for 25 years and will be retiring at the end of 2010; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Gross was instrumental in effecting the merger with St. Luke
Hospital that brought St. Elizabeth Healthcare into Fort Thomas, providing a
continuance of quality service to the citizens of Campbell County, and
WHEREAS, during his
tenure at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Mr. Gross’s leadership brought many valuable
services and new facilities to the hospitals; and
WHEREAS, some of these new facilities include, a
freestanding surgery center; the Center for Woman’s Wellness, completion of a
major expansion project at the South Unit, including hospital facilities, a
freestanding hospice center, medical offices, real estate development, a new
psychiatric hospital, a new outpatient center and a medical group practice; and
WHEREAS, in 2007 Mr. Gross received the
“Distinguished Service Award” from
WHEREAS, St. Elizabeth has been awarded top recognition by many national
publications and various health organizations, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gross has dedicated the past 25 years of
his life into helping the Northern Kentucky Community through healthcare.
Campbell County, Kentucky, hereby proclaim that this
