P R O C L A M A T I O N

 

WHEREAS,  The United States of America has the World’s finest Navy.  It is a global force for good, and serves as America’s away team, meeting threats and providing assistance whenever needed; and,

 

WHEREAS,   America’s Navy will come home to Greater Cincinnati in conjunction with the Riverfest; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Navy week will give the Greater Cincinnati Area residents an opportunity to see the investment they have made in their Navy, meet some of the Navy’s Sailors and learn about the Navy’s critical mission and its broad ranging capabilities in executing the maritime strategy on the water, under the water, and over the water; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Hundreds of Sailors are serving aboard or supporting USS Ohio (SSGN 726), the namesake nuclear powered submarine that represents this great state; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Navy Week in Greater Cincinnati features engagements with corporate, civic, government, education, and community service organizations; and,

 

WHEREAS,  The City of Fort Thomas, Kentucky thanks the United States Navy for choosing Greater Cincinnati as a host city.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARY H. BROWN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS, do hereby proclaim August 28 – September 4, 2011 as

 

“NAVY WEEK”

 

in the City of Fort Thomas, Kentucky and ask all citizens to support their military whether home or abroad.
