PARTNERSHIPS |
The Kentucky Main Street Program,
launched in 1979, is the oldest Main Street Program in the nation.
The program, created by the Kentucky Heritage Council, is based
on the four-point approach developed by the National Main Street
Center of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The goal
of the program is to encourage downtown revitilization and economic
development within the context of historic preservation to ensure
a vibrant future for Kentucky cities. They provide a variety
of resources that help shepherd our program along. |

The National Trust's Main Street
four-point approach to commercial revitalization offers Fort
Thomas Renaissance a proven, comprehensive methodology to guide
our efforts. The Main Street Center offers communities throughout
the country a clearinghouse of information, advocacy of traditional
business districts, research, and other helpful resources. |
Renaissance on Main is
a downtown revitalization effort that brings together communities
with the resources necessary to revitalize and restore Kentucky's
downtown areas. This program, administered by the Governor's
Office for Local Development (GOLD) focuses on job creation and
economic development and seeks to reward communities that take
steps to revitalize and maintain vibrant, ecomomically sound
development in Kentucky Main Street cities. Renaissance on Main
cities are elibible to receive priority statud when applying
for funds through state government agencies. |
Preserve America promotes cultural
and natural preservation and encourages greater appreciation
and enjoyment of our cultural and natural heritage from monuments
and buildings to landscapes and main streets. Fort Thomas received
this honored designation on April 20, 2004 in a presentation
by First Lady, Laura Bush. |

Fort Thomas Garden Club
The center of town blossoms
with color during the planting season thanks to the Garden Club's
efforts and generous donation of plant materials that fill the
medians, hanging baskets and planters. We also have the Garden
Club to thank for designing and donating decorations to the holiday
tree that adorns Inverness Park each December. Their efforts
make our community more appealing and that is key in creating
a vibrant business district. |

Fort Thomas Business Association
The Fort Thomas Business Association
and Fort Thomas Renaissance share a common ground - fostering
a healthy business community. The Fort Thomas Business Association
focuses on all businesses within Fort Thomas, while Fort Thomas
Renaissance's scope is the central business districts. By working
together our organizations can make more of an impact for our
Fort Thomas Businesses. |
