RESOLUTION R-9-2009

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS, CAMPBELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET AND THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS REGARDING THE MEMORIAL PARKWAY PATH PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING MAYOR MARY BROWN TO EXECUTE SAME. 

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Council have previously determined that there is a public benefit in construction of a pedestrian sidewalk along the northeast side of Memorial Parkway (S.R. 1120) from Clover Ridge Avenue north to the city limits; and

 

            WHEREAS, this improvement will address pedestrian safety for adults and children who currently walk to school and/or other destination points along this busy state highway; and

 

            WHEREAS, the City has previously entered into an Agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to construct, and receive funding for, construction of the project; and

 

            WHEREAS, the City has requested an extension for the completion of the project, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has agreed to the extension.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THIS 21ST DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2009, BY THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS, CAMPBELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY:

 

            That Mayor and Board of Council hereby support the Amendment to the Agreement between the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the City of Fort Thomas regarding the Memorial Parkway Path Project; and

 

            That Mayor Mayor Brown is authorized to sign the Amendment to the Agreement between the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the City of Fort Thomas regarding the Memorial Parkway Path Project.

 

            That this Resolution shall be signed by the Mayor, attested by the City Clerk, recorded, and shall become effective upon its adoption.
